The 30-second verdict

A VA suits you if

  • You lose hours to repeatable admin: inbox, scheduling, data entry
  • You can write down what a good week of that work looks like
  • You prefer month-to-month plans to a fixed contract

Skip it if

  • You need a specialist or senior hire
  • You have no processes yet: a VA needs tasks you can describe
  • You want someone on site every day

What to do

A first month that works

  1. List five repeat tasks and what done looks like for each (our worksheet does this).
  2. Add up the hours: if the total is under a plan, start part-time.
  3. Record short screen videos of each task so the VA can follow them.
  4. Review after week one and week four, then scale, hold or stop.
Avoid these

Mistakes to avoid

  • Delegating vague jobs like “help with marketing”
  • Starting full-time before you know the work
  • Giving the VA access to more tools than they need
Questions

FAQs

How much does a VA cost?

Wing’s published plans start at US$699 a month for 80 hours. Freelancers vary: compare total cost, not the hourly rate.

Managed or freelancer?

A managed service supervises the VA for you. A freelancer is cheaper per hour but you manage them yourself.
